Synopsis: A soldier travels to Durban in order to search for his father, who settled there.
The story of the emotional journey of a soldier Zorawar Singh (Yo Yo Honey Singh ) and his search for his long-lost father. Once thought to be dead, he traces his father to Durban and flies into the city to try and resolve the mystery.
Zorawar is a Punjabi action film directed by Vinnil Markan, and produced by PTC Motion Pictures. The film features Yo Yo Honey Singh in the title character, alongside actresses Gurbani Judge and Parul Gulati. It was partly filmed in Durban during 2014, however released after a long delay on 6 May 2016.
Punjabi film ‘Zorawar,’ which has Yo Yo Honey Singh in the title role, is creating a buzz at the box office. The action-romantic film by PTC Motion Films that released on May 6, has some gripping action sequences shot in Durban along with some foot-tapping music.
The film is about Major Zorawar Singh, a young maverick soldier in the special c ommando unit of the Indian Army. Son of Sheetal and late Col. Hargobind Singh, Zorawar’s life is going according to plan until one day when his mother receives a letter from her father. The film is about the journey of a son in search of truth in a world surrounded by lies.
The makers are excited about ‘Zorawar’ having a global release across the world, in six major territories including USA, UK, Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand, a first for a Punjabi film. Producer Rabindra Narayan says, “The mission of taking Punjabi cinema to an international level has been accomplished. Zorawar has been appreciated not only by people in India but also the NRI audiences.”
Rajiee M Shinde, Director and CEO, PTC Network, who was conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award for ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for TV & Films’, says, “We feel extremely proud to see that people are looking at ‘Zorawar’ as the next Baahubali of Punjabi cinema and have been comparing the scale, budget, promotions, music and everything on par with one of the highest grossing non-Hindi language films. Youngsters are liking the film too.”
Along with Honey, ‘Zorawar’ also stars Pavan Malhotra, Mukul Dev, Achint Kaur, Parul Gulati, Gurbani J, Amit Bahal and Jasmine.
